    help with muzzle devices

Ok, i'm trying to decide which muzzle device does not violate there GD stupid AW law here in Kommiefornia. I'm thinking Battlecomp will work per the regs. Any other ideas are most def welcome.

^ like he said, bunch of threads about this

Iirc battlecomp is "bad" because it was advertised as a flash hider in the past. The concensus seems to be exit hole slightly larger than the diameter of the caliber, no tangs, and and absolutely no flash reduction claim.

We've gone to very simple brake designs, like the ones from damage industries or Rousch, a linear comp, and thread protectors.

I can't find the Librarian quote, but it went something like:

If the manufacturer says it's a flash suppressor, it's a flash suppressor. If the manufacturer says it's a muzzle brake and a DOJ employee says it's a flash suppressor, it's a flash suppressor.

And that's about all we know about that. Everything else is speculation.

There are a couple of good videos on compensation provided by various muzzle devices for ar15s and ar10

Not sure what you are looking fo, but at least you can see if maybe adding a compliant device will also help with recoil...

Sounds like the only sure 100% legal muzzle device is a thread protector. Anything else may be rolling the dice. At least until some poor guys with a brake are charged as a flash suppressor and the cases are adjudicated.

While a thread protector is a safe bet, there are a lot of muzzle brakes out there that are a pretty safe bet. It's hard to call any muzzle brake that diverts gasses up into your field of view a flash suppressor. I would also feel fairly confident with muzzle brakes on "California legal" versions of M1a rifles, or brakes that are carved into a barrel.

Home of the Beast series brakes. We produce some of the most effective muzzle brakes on the market.

My 2 piece brake came yesterday and it works great. My 1st brake that does not need a gunsmith to install.

I buy all my muzzle brakes from Les Schuler. He only makes brakes, he does not make flash hiders. They are labeled as "3 or 4 port muzzle brakes".

Don't try and second guess the minds of Excremento. If they ever release the registration documents those should have it all spelled out. However, expect a loophole that allows the Cal DOJ to make the final decision.

Only an end cap is really safe here. The rest is open to DOJ interpretation.
