If you didnt have a safe....

Where would you guys hide your OLL from burglers if you didnt have a safe? Maybe some LEs that have handled alot of burgleries and noticed patterns can make some suggestions.

Depending ont the length of the upper I would break it down and put it in the wash machine with some towels. If I didn't have a safe.

Most burglars wouldn't know an OLL from a canopener.

Most burglaries seem to be real quick grab and go affairs. If it's not in plain sight, it's a lot less likely to be taken. I'd imagine theives do look in the obvious spots like under beds. I'd find somewhere that it could be hidden underneath other items that are unlikely to be stolen, such as under your jeans in a dresser drawer, under some blankets in a chest or linen closet, under a piece of furniture, etc...

Used to keep a cruiser shotty in the couch in the living room in college. It had a small strip cushion at the bottom of the back rest that was just begging for a gun.

If you have a dresser that goes all the way to the ground instead of having legs, then pull out the the bottom drawer and put it under. I have a fully loaded shotgun under my drawer. Or if you really what to deceive, get some old underwear and rub some brown paint on them, put the receiver in your closet on the ground and put that nasty looking underwear on top of it. Haha. I'll probably work.

have any of you guys seen that show "it takes a thief" with the reformed burglars that helped homeowners with home security? A thiief can pretty much go through all the "secret hidey spots" that most people have in less than 5 minutes and comletely clean you out.

...I would make it an absolute priority to buy one ASAP if I owned a gun. Why don't you have a safe? A gun cabinet, which is better than nothing, that is big enough to hold rifles is only 150-200 bucks and a low level true safe is about 350. So, why don't you have one? The ones I mentioned are small enough to bring up stairs and put in apartments. If cost is your concern, then I ask you: how many guns do you own? How much did you pay for them? Are you really going to cheap out on 150-350 bucks and risk your guns. Everyone thinks that it can't happen to them until it does. Buy a safe.
