    Thanks. Just curious.
They're all built on the same design.
Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. -- James Madison

The Constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms. -- Samuel Adams, Debates and Proceedings in the Convention of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 86-87 (Pearce and Hale, eds., Boston, 1850)

Generally a true statement. However, this safe was already "unlocked". The bolts just weren't retracted enough though. If the safe had a direct drive handle, and no clutch, it would have opened relatively easily, albeit with some resistance.

This may give you a better idea of the inside workings on a liberty safe.

How do locking bars and gun safe door bolts differ? Visit Liberty Safe to discover how our patented locking bar and bolt down systems keep your valuables safe.

Glad it worked out for you. I've had a little bit of experience with safes (25yrs) ... I always recommend having a safe serviced every 1-3 years (depending on the use (opening cycles) the safe goes through to prevent things like that from happening.

So what is going to be done about the drill hole? Does this fall into Liberty Safes warranty?

Most safe manufacturers replace the safe then refurbish the repaired one and sell it.

Yeah I'm happy that they paid for a lock smith to travel to my home and spend a few hours to get her open. its most likely my fault as I move the safe with a friend to the my new home. I think even though it was simple move , and that safe was empty and much care was taken that problem only happened after the move allbeit only twice, before that I had no issue,so for one very small hole that has been repaired by the smith I'm happy and a lesson learned.

                      Cheers Will
