Overheard people speaking poorly about CalGuns.

On 3 separate occasions I heard a group of people speaking poorly about CalGuns. I confronted each group and asked them what their problem with CalGuns was.

I naturally assumed they weren't OLL lovers. Turns out most of them had OLL AK-47's and AR-15's. They did not like the fact that when they came here to ask a question they had to sort threw so much BS, the countless threads about Zombies, Turners and other shop's bashing just because they don't want to deal with the liability of transferring OLL's. I am very disappointed in you guys - if we have people in the gun community talking poorly about us then what about beginner shooters? I even interrupted a Turners employee with 3 AK-47 OLL's and 2 AR OLL's on his break when he was speaking poorly on about CalGuns on his cell phone. I think we should make an effort to be more understanding to FFL's and be a little more professional here.

You'd be surprised by what kind of interesting things you can find if you search wrong.

Example: Searching for "Liberator Pistol" pictures on Google.

After i found calguns, i was looking at purchasing a SIG and Uncle Pauls in Ventura was running a "Sig's, our cost is your cost" promotion... i was at a gunshop (won't mention where) but i was asking about the M&P 9mm and the guy behind the counter said "You don't want that, you want a SIG" and i mentioned the sale going on at uncle pauls for "Calgun" members and he was in shock and said (maybe not word for word but close) "Really? most shops hate calguns because they all feel the know the law's better than we do and do so many damn PPT's it pisses us off"....

After hearing that i was kinda questioning Calguns but everyone's been helpful to me.... and ive stuck around.

well Joe, most gun stores don't like us because we are very well informed and they know that we know that we can find stuff for cheaper and they cannot rob us of our money by trying to sell us stuff at a higher price. They know that we will ask more questions than your normal not informed gun owner with little experience.

And please do tell the name of the shop... LOL.

Yup!

Cant spread bad info or rob people when theres a resource like this avalible.

The reason CalGuns "thinks" it knows the law better than most firearms dealers is because, collectively, it does.

I noticed that some members on Calguns show a little lack of maturity. Maybe they are the ones give other members a bad name. I have learned a lot from the Calguns, but kinda disappointed at some remarks some people make.

They got their info of of CalGuns - these are not FLL's - these are private citizens. Let's not bash on FFL's for not doing OLL transfers, it is a liability in their eyes. Just as long as there not spreading FUD - let's stop bashing them.

absolutely, and without CG i would jus have my own opinion about why THE GUN ROOM sucks!
