    Gun show uppers

I have been going to crossroads of the west gun shows for the past 7 years and see allot of local manufacturers selling uppers. Has anyone purchased uppers from gun shows? Are they any good?

There was a company called ROHG arms a couple of years ago that was selling stuff at guns shows and I think there was a thread here about a problem with one of their barrels or complete uppers. I saw somebody selling a gun show upper in the market place asking for $600 but has no idea who made the barrel etc just that it's from a gun show

Why pay those inflated prices when reputable sources are available on line for less $?

Gun shows can cause a shark-like feeding frenzy, resist that.

I bought an upper from a gun show probably 7 years ago before I knew better. Didn't pay that much attention to it when I bought it. When I got home and dug it out I realized that the dust cover wouldn't close unless you used some kind of pick to push down on the ball detent then finish closing it.

In the last few years I've come to appreciate quality vs quantity. I'd much rather pay the prices that a premium factory built upper/rifle demands than save a few bucks on a gun show special.

I just cant do it. I have to know where certain things come from and GS sometimes cant tell you that.

Buy a gunshow upper at your own risk. Chinese parts, Pakistani barrels, shoddy assembly, no warranty.

I try to pick up parts, not complete uppers, at gun shows. I stick to correct-looking logos, serial- or part-numbered stuff where applicable and forge marks that I recognize. Been pretty good results so far.

Theyre over priced imo, i almost bought one once i went to the gun show specifically looking for an upper and didnt know any better but left with nothing because they where pretty expensive when you can shop online for cheaper. I wouldnt mind paying $600 for a quality upper from a well known brand but when its from a gun show and theyre built by an unknoen LLC, no thanks

The only Upper I've ever purchased from a gunshow was a CMMG 9mil upper and it worked as it should.

I did it once since it was a 7.62x39 pistol upper for 400 otd and it was perfect, no issues whatsoever.

Palmetto had them on daily deal for 159.00, no BCG or charging handle. Last night. You have to keep an eye on their daily deals. A couple of months ago they had them for 179. I am happy with the one I got.
