[ANSWERED] Cleaning Patches: Cotton Knit vs Cotton Flannel

Pretty simple question, what's the difference between "Knit" and "Flannel" cleaning patches?

From searching around for an answer some people mentioned that some types of patches can fall apart, but there wasn't much info I could find.

        Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

The ones I got before were RangeMaxx 2" squares from Bass Pro. They frayed easily and were also too big, I had to cut them in half.

What makes you recommend those patches?

Also, if I was just gonna buy from Amazon, which would generally be better, Knit or Flannel?

I have used many brands of patches and Pro-Shot are the best. They are flannel and strong. They come in multiple sizes to match the caliber, and are available in both square and round shapes.

Some sizes of Pro-Shot patches are available from Amazon. I have also seen them locally at Sportsman's Warehouse.

Just use a bore snake and you can put patches in the past.

I do use a bore snake, but I'm still curious about the differences.

Should OP get a flannel bore snake or a knit one?

I like the Hoppe's patches the best. Frays the least.

Butch's twill patches are my favorite.
