The story,
Bought a P-01 from a guy from this site in my area. He did work on the gun, when I would shoot it a pin would wiggle out slowly from the frame. I sent it out to CGW and decided to get it upgraded to the defensive package and the pin fixed. 3 months later it came in, it was just as accurate as my accu-shadow. Bought a Kadet upper and went to put it on and it was tight, and never really cycled reliably. Went to put back on the original upper and it would not cycle correctly. Doing my own diagnosis I concluded that the trigger bar is bent from the force I applied when installing the Kadet. Dave from CGW told me it will be a couple of months before he will accept new orders. My question is if I delivered the gun to CZ custom in Mesa AZ. will they work on the gun even if I had it worked on by CGW? Has anyone sent there gun to the CZ custom shop? -
I have used both and have never heard of them refusing to work on a gun just because someone else worked on it, particularly if it's a well-respected gunsmith.
I know that Wilson Combat has a list of 1911 they'll accept for work and that some manufacturers won't work on their own guns if someone else touched them, but both CZ Custom and CGW are independent shops with high quality gunsmiths.sigpicNRA Benefactor MemberComment
