    AR47

I got a good deal on a 7.62x39 AR upper from a guy at work. I have ordered an 80% AR47 lower and jig from BRS. I have built many AR's, one AK, and a 1911 from 80%ers.
Any advice on this endeavor? I like having a new rifle that can take ammo and mags I already have.
BTW, this will be a featureless build.

Looks like a KS-47 from PSA, NICE!
    I want one now, thanks.

Based off reading up on KS-47's there are compatibility issues with uppers:
Hot on the success of the CMMG Mutant, Palmetto State Armory released their 7.62×39 AR hybrid, instead opting for compatibility with the AR-15 platform versus its own proprietary system.Originally shown at SHOT 2016 and shot at the Big 3 East in the spring, the KS-47 has begun shipping and now with bare receivers available, is now the subject of some compatibility issues. As PSA stated in their videos released at Big 3, the lower is (paraphrase) “compatible with other companies 7.62×39 upper receivers,” which while factually true in terms of their pin placement will have a functional issue. The root cause is the combined usage of an AK-47 magazine and a “standard” AR-15 upper.

Like AR308 receivers, there is no standardized AR47 receiver.

There will be compatibility issues depending on the manufacturer (PSA, RRA, KAC, etc).

Research the parts before you buy them.

You will need 7.62x39 mags, I prefer C-Defense. Use a standard hammer spring and an extended firing pin for hard Russian primers. An adjustable gas block will tune it and lessen recoil. A muzzle brake will lessen recoil further.

Use lots of Slip 2000 EWL to break it in.

The AR47 style reciever uses standard AK magazines.

I just watched a Youtube video where a guy milled out his upper and bolt carrier. I can do that.

Exactly, the "compatibility issues" come from trying to stuff a little bit of the wider mag into the upper.

The DPMS flat top Lo-Pro upper receiver is an excellent candidate for the AR47 type rifle due to the thicer side walls which leave enough meat after clearancing for the AK mags.

Shop rifle parts (2,356) at Brownells, including barrels, stocks, triggers, and bolt carriers to customize, repair, or upgrade your rifle’s performance.

Milling a regular AR upper will leave the side edges really thin.

I have an AR in 7.62x39. I have used the c defence mags and had nothing but trouble with them. I much prefer the ASC mags. They have always worked perfectly. If you have trouble with soft strikes on the primer pop the firing pin in a drill press and take a few thousands off the flared face with a file or sandpaper. Mine came with m 4 feed ramps and it didn't work right until I opened the ramp up for the larger diameter cases. I also had to go to a heavier buffer. Don't buy cheap ones as the ammo will beat them to death in a hurry. I have close to a 1000 rds without any issues but it took some tinkering to get there. Put a red dot on it and it is a ball to shoot. Hopefully yours will be set up better than mine was. They really are a lot of fun to shoot, enjoy.
