    Were number Two! (NFA)

I was looking through the ATF's Firearms Commerce report, and it turns out we have the number TWO highest number of NFS stamps of any state.

I presume this is mostly because of Hollywood, as most of the stamps are for Destructive devices followed by MG, SBS and SBR. 11k silencers though. Must be Military and police?

Any way, I thought this might be interesting to others. Check out Exhibit 8 for info. https://www.atf.gov/file/89561/download

Destructive devices are probably grenades of some sort. Each grenade is a registered DD.

Or a rocket with more than 4 OZ of propellant, or a firearm/cannon over half inch projectile. I doubt the military has to have a tax stamp on their grenades. lol

        That's pretty interesting stuff.

But I gotta ask because I just don't know and now I am curious.

2014 exhibit 5 lists countries importing into the US. Canada imported 300K+ rifles into the US in one year. What rifle is made in Canada that we need so many of?

Stupid people don't know they are stupid. Because they are stupid. They will follow evil geniuses and do their bidding, because they are stupid.

Really super stupid people look up to, and follow stupid people like they were geniuses, because to them, they are. Unfortunately the reality of it is, that doesn't make stupid people any smarter.

That right there is the root cause to most problems in the world.

Colt Canada maybe. They picked up some of the Military, and I believe some Police contracts. That list is total. It says this in Tables 1 and 3 notes:

The AFMER report excludes production for the U.S. military but includes firearms purchased by domestic law enforcement agencies.

Don't confuse number of tax stamps with number of nfa registered firearms. Not even close to the same numbers.

Those numbers include stamp nfa items and non stamp. CA has all that stuff but hardly any of it has a tax stamp. Look at the Illinois numbers and then look up Illinois nfa law.

When I lived in IL in the 80s MGs could be rented at shooting ranges. I rented them at the Buffalo Rock range in Ottawa IL

True. Those dealers sat there just to rent them out. I used to go there too in the 90s. But the number of stamp machine guns in Illinois is almost zero. Those were all dealer samples just like in Vegas and knob creek that do not have stamps. No one is going to stack $30000 Tommy guns and let strangers shoot them when they can do the same with $1500 samples.

There are only about 175000 machine guns that have stamps out of those 550000 registered. Since they are illegal in Illinois and nearly impossible to own in California I'm guessing the majority in those states are not stamp guns. I could be wrong but it is a safe bet.

The CA Movie industry armorers must have a lot of stamped MGs. Even if the barrel is blank firing, the receiver would need to be stamped right?

There are some tax stamp guns in Hollywood but I doubt a lot by now. Anything made after 1986 would not have a stamp except a few that were allowed to be registered. I have seen a few very beat up junker stamp guns that were used in films but those are very rare and priced based on the actor that used it and less on the value. I don't work in Hollywood but by now it should be cheaper to computer the stuff in or have an ffl on site renting post samples.

CA's DD Collector's Permit is a SHALL ISSUE permit. So, it's not just the movie industry. Back in the 80's there were several ranges in CA that rented MGs out. There are still a lot of private collections in CA.
