My Chinese type 56s-1 AK... Robust... Receiver 1.5mm vs 1.0 mm used in eastern block originals. Never a malfunction.

DS Arms' Rifles - very nice FN FAL clone, and really well built. While nobody would opt for one over an original, it's very well made - and you can't beat USA Made!

JLD Enterprises / PTR - very nice HK-91 clone - and you can't beat USA Made!

Arsenal AK - A lot of people don't like the company for its stance on CA in the past, but Arsenal put together a very nice clone AK, especially the earlier milled-receiver production guns - and you can't beat USA Made! (Well, mostly USA made.)

Springfield made a nice clone of the Glock with their XD - BURN!!!! Of course, the final perfecting touch was in adding "GRIP ZONE" to the grip!! That made it more perfection than Glock Perfection right there!! OK.... so you can beat USA made.

Hesse/Vulcan/Blackthorne Arms... or whatever name they are using this year to escape their past, made some REALLY NICE clones of a giant hand grenade, IED, Pressure-Cooker bomb, Pipe-Bomb, Faulty Roman Candle, and technically advanced instant suicide device - even if you didn't want to off yourself.

You have an ordinary Witness. We are talking about the Witness Elite Match, Elite Pro, Hunter, Stock I, II or III, Limited, Gold Team Custom and any of their Xtreme's.

Springfield doesn't make the XD/XDM. Its the HS2000 pistol made in Croatia by HS produkt. Springfield is only the importer and has them slap their name on it for the US market. Not close to being a "clone" other then its just another polymer framed gun.

That is certainly true for most CZ products, at least ones that were available during SSE 1.0. That said, CZ's refinements is catching up quickly, granted that my Tanfo experience is limited to only one Witness Hunter. When (I'm guessing knowing you, Litespeed), you get your hands on a Shadow 2, you'll see just how much CZ has moved from that old Soviet Bloc mentality to the EU mentaility.

                    Rossi 62 over Winchester 62

Rossi 's youth/carbine gallery pump is smaller then Wins. Love that thing.

I'll argue that the Norinco 1911 was every bit as good as the same configured Colt 1911.

If we're talking direct copies, Remington M91s are damn nice.

I actually like the Taurus 92 clones (made on Berretta tools AFAIK) better because I like the frame safety.

My Canik Shark performs just as well as my CZ SP-01 and 75b, actually the trigger is a little better then both of the CZ's.

The Charles Daly HiPower clones from a from a from a few years back were pretty good, especially when compared to that god awful run of "parctical" guns Browning had for a while.

Most unique thread I have seen in a long time...

Yeah a lot of people like the Taurus PT92 frame mounted safety over the 92FS but to be really accurate to the thread... there's A LOT of CZ-75 clones that are better than the original out of the box CZ-75.

It is worth noting that a price point comparison should be made with a lot of these guns as most of the time clones are a lot cheaper with minimal loss in quality, for example Walther P99 (MSRP $629) vs Canik TP9 (MSRP $350).
