SW 1911 PC color modification change??

I was wondering if anyone have tried to match the full SS finish look of the SW PC 1911 with the 'bobtail' version by removing the black finish?? I really like the look of the SW PC 1911 45 ACP bobtail, but prefer the SS or raw finish look of the other SW PC 1911 version. Can it be done???

The bobtail model had a scandium alloy frame so your only option to achieve the stainless look of the full size model would be to have it hard chromed in a matte finish.

Is there a huge finish difference with the alloy if stripped?

Yes. Tends to end up looking crappy. Very so. That is why you do not see bright finish Aluminum or Scandium frames on any gun unless garage made.

I think some oiled sandpaper, a dremel, and you'll have it. It isn't hard. Do it yourself. Save the money. Do it.

I don't think you can Hardchrome Sc. You'd likely be better off just having the whole gun done in Ceracoat

Why not blacken the slide? May not match perfectly but there are many options.

Wait... I think I'm wrong. I don't think aluminum can be chromed. Perhaps plated. Definitely anodized.

Although, why would you want to ruin a perfectly good two tone? Two tone 1911's are more reliable, shoot more accurately and increase exponentially in value compared to all stainless.
