    Prop 63 and Walmart

Walmart is my favorite place to buy ammunition. After Prop 63 goes into effect, does anyone know if Walmart is still going to carry ammunition that is packaged under 50 rounds. For example, 20 round boxes of AR/other caliber rifle ammo and 25 round boxes of 12ga. I'd like to replenish what I shoot, albeit gradually without having to pay an extra FFL fee. It would also be interesting if manufacturers start producing 49 round boxes of ammunition. Unfortunately for me I live an hour away from a Walmart it would probably be more cost effective for me to pay the FFL fee than to make multiple trips. However, its always nice to stop by the Walmart when I'm in town and there's a little treat of some bricks of .22lr sitting on the shelf

Walmart has the best prices on universal 12ga and it's easy to burn 100 rounds shooting some clays.

I'll ask my Walmart guy next time I go. He always feeds me the scoop including delivery days/times, new store policies, etc.

An Ammunition vendor license is required if the person/business sells more than 500 rounds in a 30 day time period. [PC 30342(a)]

An ammunition vendor will be charging a transfer fee for any amount of ammo they sell.

According to my friendly Walmart sporting goods dept. Gal, YES.
That's why they collect birth dates now.
        We'll see.

              Walmarts are different here.

Most sell rifles, some no longer do. All still sell ammo but I haven't seen any .22lr at any of them for a long time. The lgs's do have lots on the shelf for standard US pricing. No more gouging like before.

your local walmart store worker ain't going to know the plans wal-mart corporate will have to deal with the new ammo law.

better to email the regional manager or anyone in corporate at management level positions.

Walmart and every retailer in the country that has ever sold ammo to CA needs to have their data/finance guys run this query on their transaction tables (pseudocode, the geeks will get the logic):

                    Select sum(Sales) as 'TotalSales'
                    from 'Orders'
where Department = 'Ammunition' and BillingAddressState = 'California'

Multiply the total amount by 1500 and sue the state of CA for it for ****ing with interstate commerce.

Time to push back hard on these cheesedick mother****ers.

There are some Wal-Marts that don't sell ammo at all already. For example, Rosemead, and that might have something to do with it being located in LA County, which has had its own rules for years. Not sure at what level these decisions are made, but I am not hopeful.

The full size Walmart in Torrance still sells ammo (LA County).

My Walmart is Santa Maria, Lompoc amd AG all sell 22 regularly. The stock person at one of the stores tried to say it would have to swipe a card just like for buying a hunting or fishing license but that sales would continue.
