I have two parts kits from 1986 non-matching serial numbers but they're all original Austrian parts are in excellent condition, original Austrian barrels, the upper receiver which I purchased from Dsa Arms back in 2014 and finally assembled them head spaced with go and no go gauges and tapered locking shoulder gauge, and I'm curious what the value of these rifles? I duracoated all the parts before assembly, they are properly headspaced and shoot great. I call them the twins any help would greatly be appreciated I was offered $1000 for one but I don't think that's a fair price. Thank you for any help. Just checked serial number 42*** and 108*** on lower receivers

I'd say $1K is a bit light.
Best place to check current asking prices is the Marketplace on the FAL Files.
You may also see a few on arf in the Equipment Exchange.

value is relative. I look at those and think about all the work I would have to do stripping off all that duracoat and what a pain it would be - it would affect how much I wanted to pay for it.
Someone else may think they are fantastic, and willing to pay even more because they like the paint jobs.Comment

I thought the Dsa Arms upper receivers were the best in Cali but I don't know, and I haven't seen any kits for quite a few years, are you aware of any places still sewing kits with the original 21 inch barrels ? Thanks for your helpComment

The LMT made DSA receivers are top notch but are quite different than the recent ones. The Imbel "gear logo" type 3's from 10+ years ago are really nice too.NRA, CRPA, and RWVA member.Comment

What?
Never.
As for an Austrian/Steyr kit on a DSA receiver, i think 1500 is a bare minimum.
Further, if your DSA receiver is a DSxxxx serial and not a DSAxxxx serial it is actually a LMT manufactured receiver and is one of the most coveted.
Steel lowers as well are usu earlier and probably also Steyr and once again worth more.
As for $800 stg58s,
Not a chance. I see Enterprise and Hesse sell for more.
Imbel and Coonan are a level above that, and the LMT/DSAs are above those.sigpic

You did, but a lot of prospective buyers want a btdt battle rifle look. Parkerizing is original finish for some FAL's. Handling a parked finish does not leave marks.
Arizona Response Systems may be able to hook you up with a kit. If I were looking for a kit, I'd be on the FAL Files.
Unassembled, maybe. Assembled, where?
bbguns44 was talking about a kit, not a finished weapon. Agree with $1500-ish for a DSA/LMT receiver, and a matching-numbers STG kit, assembled. What?
Never.

If you drop more than that on an Enterprise or Hesse / Blackthorne / whatever they call themselves this week, you deserve what you get. Century got tired of Hesse's crap and switched to Imbel, which imo is as good as it gets.
I'd still say there's nothing wrong with a well-worn SA kit in original baby puke paint either.True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.
