what can I bring into CA?

I currently live in MD. My wife and just got back from a week's stay in the Inland Empire area. I own a couple of rifles; 2 Arsenal AKs, VZ58, and an AR from Lewis Machine Tools. I also have the following handguns; HK P7, Springfield Armory Tactical Operator, Dan Wesson Specialist, 2 Browning Hi Power, Sig 228, Sig 220, Sig 226, CZ 75, CZ PCR, CZ P07, HK P30, HK 45, SW 686, Sphinx SDP, Walther PPQ.

I know that I won't be able to bring them all to CA.

    10 round mags.
Otherwise must be permanently blocked. (Epoxy or riveting often quoted.)

AR/AK must be "featureless", several discussions here.

I am willing to let go of my long guns. So for my handguns, as long as I have ten round mags for them, they should be all okay to bring to CA?

No threaded barrels, magazine well in front of the grip, or foregrips, I think.

You should buy guns that are not "on roster", then sell them when you get here. It's the only way for us to get them, and you can get a good price for them.

You don't need to as long as they're featureless, or fixed mag, and not on the list...

Ya I think you should be good with what you have as long as no threaded bbls. Oh ya, you also need to do this...

You can't import with the intent of resale but if you happen to get a cpl prelock smiths and find you didn't like them...I'd take em off your hands on your next redwoods vacation.

No, he should buy guns that are not on the roster because he wants them and he won't be able to once he moves here. If later he wants to sell them, yes he will make a profit

Follow these simple steps to happiness in CA:

                    1. Purchase the following: P320's, VP9s, G4 MOS Glocks, and any CZ anything (off roster)...
                    2. Sell all mags > 10 rounds locally.
                    3. Bring guns with you to CA.
                    4. Post pics here and make all of us jealous.
                    5. Enjoy!

Again make certain that none of your pistols have threaded barrels or magazines that hold more then 10rds. I know it's been said before but for handguns in California it can't be said enough. Also check the stipulations on registration. I was exempt as a service member but some people moving there and changing residence to CA have to register their firearms. The California DOJ has a website that explains everything, and yes it can be confusing so read it a few times. I can't comment too much on long guns. I left California in 2015 and the laws have changed considerably since then. Best of luck calguns is a great place for advice.

                            Correct.

CA laws classifies any handgun that can shoot a shotgun shell as a SBS.
