Sure, why not?

If you're asking about doing it for one DROS fee, then check with your FFL. Most will charge you for each DROS.
I've been told it's a grey area from DOJ as to if they have to charge for each when done at the same time.

i believe pistol and rifles are two separate forms. i think u can do multiple rifles and shotguns on one form and u can do multiple pistols on another. so ive been told.

A rifle (or any number of long guns) is DROS'ed on a seperate form....if you are referring to the computer-generated CA DROS form. A pistol is DROS'ed individually and seperate from any other gun (pistol or long gun). And each time a DROS form is submitted to the state, they charge me $25 for the "priviledge" so yes, the customer gets charged for each one.

If you mean can they both go on the same 4473, then the answer is yes. When I had my last audit, the DOJ inspector said I could put as many firearms on the 4473 as I wanted to including attaching seperate sheets if necessary. Hope that answers the question.

unless you have your C&R FLL + COE. Then you can buy as many handguns as you can afford. NO 1-in-30 day limitation on any handguns, C&R or Modern.

So who has backup for their "yes you can" besides "my FFL does it so it must be kosher"?

If I can add long guns to a pistol DROS w/ no record of any long gun transfers as far as the state is concerned . . . why can't I ADD long guns to a long gun DROS that has already been submitted w/ fewer long guns than the customer actually wants to transfer on the pickup date? For example, I submit a long gun DROS w/ quantity of 1 and customer later decides he wants 2 or 3. (which seems to be commonly accepted as not kosher - definitely not, according to the boffers)

Or how bout the flip side of that? I know that some FFLs will do a long gun DROS for 3-5 long guns, even though you are only buying one. That way, if you want to, you can add to your 4473 before you pick up.

That is fine by me. I do that often, it tempts people to buy more when they pick up (Field agent noticed that but didn't say anything negative about it during our one brief audit.)

But the other way around is the same principle as transferring long guns on a pistol DROS . . . no record of the sale as far as the state is concerned.
