Talk me out of a Commander size Les Baer

Thinking real hard about a Commander size Les Baer in S/S. I have a UTC 5" in blue and its been a great 1911. Im wanting a Commander size but from the stuff I have read it looks like they tend to have extraction issues on a hit and miss basis.
Seems Les Baer builds the Commander from a full size frame and the result is a out of spec Commander. Some owners have had zero issues but some have had to send their handguns off to other gunsmiths for a fix, which is not cheap.
Or should I just save for a Wilson? Any thoughts?

Go read what Les, himself, has to say on his website about how if you have a problem they will PROBABLY take care of it at their expense.

Between that and what you know about their commander...and the fact that there are plenty of other options at this level without the risks...why on earth would you take the chance?

Ok,name some options. Like I said in my post, the issues with the Commander frames are not common but have happened to some owners. Other options have zero issues? Just asking here, not committed to buying a LB.😀

The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.

Not on roster so you'll have to find a used one in your area. I'd love a commander length LB. Get it.

Nighthawk Talon 2 would be my first choice on commander in a free state but the Wilson EDC is another great option.

For a 4"/4.25" gun I would start here:
                        Wilson
                        Gun Crafter
                        Dan Wesson
                        Ed Brown

                        After that
Nighthawk probably has one but their reputation for service isn't always the best.

Commander size 1911s run fine, they have made millions of them. The problems start when you try to make a 1911 less than Commander size.

Been there done that. HAD Para 10. What a pain. Para couldn't make it run. Sent it to Terry Tussey,he fixed it,then I sold it.
