Creating Soft body armor

Hello all, I have a full week off next week from worm and I'm looking to make body armor, not to wear for myself, but just to have some fun creating it, whilst learning something new.

I have a couple questions.

First, I have access to free Kevlar 49, will this work? Or do I need Kevlar 29? Would adding a combo of Dyneema to the Kevlar make it stronger? Also I have read Dyneema is stronger than Kevlar, is that true?

Any knowledge helps.

Not sure where you heard that one. Must be some kind of urban-legend or the "anti-bullet proof vest" lobby spinning tall tales.

Phillips wore a 40-pound homemade suit of body armor consisting of a Type III-A bulletproof vest and groin guard; a load-bearing vest and pieces of body armor taken from spare vests, which protected his groin, shins, thighs, and forearms. Matasareanu simply wore a Type II-A bulletproof vest, but also included a metal trauma plate. Picture of Phillips' concoction is below:
