    Assault Rifle ban question?

What's up Calgunners? I purchased an AR-15 last year before the "Ban"

I still see assault rifles on the market with the "shark fin" around the pistol grip.

My question is, do I need to attach a shark fin on my rifle? Or am I exempted since I bought the rifle last year?

Your not exempted from anything. When the registration period opens if DOJ gets it figured out, you will have to register your rifle. If you don't want to register it as an assault weapon you need to make it featureless in some manner, that has / is being discussed in multiple threads.

The fin is part of featureless if you go that route resurch it. Otherwise in original configuration means you will need to register OR possibly a Work around if it pans out and DOJ gets there head removed from there but

        What they said.

And stop calling it an "assault rifle" because it's not one.

In CA, that is not even the term the Anti-2nd Amendment legislators use legally, as much as they would like to do so to paint that stigma all over their impotent legislation.

Wolf Blitzer takes offense to that statement.

If you bought an "assault rifle" last year, no amount of features or lack thereof will help you. Selective fire weapons are illegal no matter what in CA.

Now if you are saying you purchased a rifle that meets the new definition of Assault Weapon passed by the state legislature last year, then you should abide by the words generously provided above.
