i dont see a shortage, its a lay off due to overages and lower than expected sales so maybe folk will realize how silly paying those crazy prices (i personally am still shooting 18 buck bricks) and may see lower prices to increase sales

I was in Utah last week... lots of .22LR for reasonable prices .06-.10/rnd.

No shortage today. The market is full of 22lr and for the most part all popular ammo.
I would love to see some more surplus hit the markets again.

I was paying 3 cents per round for Federal bulk before the insanity started. Now I typically see prices in the 8 cent to 10 cent range and supply is still relatively sparse. So I'm not sure I understand the layoffs. Perhaps they're laying off now in anticipation of a lack of future demand. Maybe the distributors have already stopped ordering.

Someone is lining their pockets though. From 3 cents to ≈ 9 cents is still a huge increase at retail.

Odd that I don't see bulk boxes as much (walmart). I did get some online but it was one box at at time. Hence I think if we still have limits, there is still a supply/demand problem. Wally world hardly has it on the shelves but rest of calibers are stocked just fine.

For the time being, 22LR along with 9mm, .223/5.56 & other calibers are plentiful and reasonably priced. Now is the time to buy & buy often!

By November, the supply pipeline will weaken and prices will climb.

By December, there will several posts per day from gunners complaining about high ammo prices in the marketplace. These folks, will blame everyone but themselves, because they didn't plan ahead.

The 22lr shortage only exists at walmart. It's plentiful everywhere else. Can find federal automatch for 6-cents shipped on any number of websites, with no limits.

Agreed . . . failing to plan is planning to fail; and HOPE, is NOT a plan.

Anyone who can afford to stock up now, and doesn't, is just not paying attention.
