Because he is from CA, might as well go all out and buy a 100rd mag vs a standard mag..

The only mags they had in stock were large capacity, and I needed them the next morning.

Agreed, not worth the last minute hassle and also doing a solid by future class participants

Not to split hairs, but standard capacity magazines are 20 or 30 rounds. The mags you are forced to use in Commiefornia are neutered down to 10 by legislation.

High capacity magazines would be those designed to accept more than 30 rounds.

                  Splitting more hairs...

Standard capacity is what the firearm was designed for and varies depending upon the type of firearm.

High capacity is whatever is greater than the standard capacity.

In CA, large capacity is legally defined as anything greater than 10.

                  Examples...
AK47 = standard capacity is 30. high capacity is anything greater than 30.
AR15 = standard capacity was 20, but was changed by some manufacturers in the 1980s to 30. high capacity was greater than 20, but is now greater than 30.
Colt 1911 (.45ACP) = standard capacity is 7. high capacity is anything greater than 7.
Beretta 92 = standard capacity is 15. high capacity is anything greater than 15.
Glock 17/34 = standard capacity is 17. high capacity is anything greater than 17.
Glock 19 = standard capacity is 15. high capacity is anything greater than 15.
Glock 26 = standard capacity is 10. high capacity is anything greater than 10.

Hide them in your underground bunker. wink wink. Just kidding.

and a High cap clip is >30 to me, like a drum.

                    standard clips are 30 rds.

Gee, I thought we were talking about AR15's, not Glocks, AK's et al.

However, to be totally pedantic about it you are right. Standard mags are whatever capacity magazine the firearm was designed for.

I know this post is almost a month old, but here in Nevada, "standard" magazines for ARs are 20 or 30 rounds. I might be able to find ten round magazines by driving all over town and searching, but I'm not even sure about that. Mark Fore & Strike on Kieztke would probably have a few, in a drawer in their basement.

It's sad that this discussion should even be discussed. I know what I would do, but that's me.
