Been shooting some LR lately and decided to load my own ammo. I have some experience loading but am just a novice. My Problem I am having is trying to get the velocity out of my hand loads that I get w/ factory Hornady 140gr ELD match ammo My 6.5 CM factory load will chrono at 2750 with no cratering of the primer. I have tried H4350 and IMR 4451 and can't get close w/o cratering of the primer or a hole through the primer (see results below). I am using Lsoua brass w/ CCI 450 small magnum primers, 140 ELD bullet loaded .020 off the lands using a Hornady oal gauge. What am I doing wrong?? I'm using a 22" Hart barrel 1/8 RH twist.
Well, finally got around to testing the Hornady 140 ELD's w/ H4350 and IMR 4451.
