    Request for Firearm Records

I sent a Request for Firearm Records from to the DOJ at the end of December and still have not received any paperwork. I included the notarized form, Copy of ID etc. Any idea on how long it should take to get back form those who have filed one?

It can take any where from 3-45 weeks to receive a response from them via mail.

In 2015, it took about 4 months for me to get the results of my AFS Request for Firearms.

Is that a request to show what firearms they have "on the books" for you?

Took me about 4 months to get mine. Forgot all about the request until it showed up in the mail.

I had exactly the same experience. I had completely forgotten the request

The report was eye opening regarding the lack of accuracy of the database. Five pages of extremely inaccurate info. Stuff that was reported stolen in the '80's was still there. A lot of stuff that I own wasn't there.
