Most ear muffs prevent good cheek weld...
and the DNA that determined how high or low your babies happen to sit will have a great deal to say about weld...
Better try some on
I see shooters wearing the same brand...one guy moans...the other is happysigpic

I have tossed all my ear muffs and only use the Howard Leights.

The Peltor 100 is a good budget unit. I keep a pair as a backup for when I'm taking someone with me to the range.
That said, I still recommend saving up and getting something that works well. For me, it is the MSA Sordin unit - they are low-profile, and I've never felt the need to use earplugs under them.Comment

I've had great success with the Caldwells and at $26 ea Prime.....hard to beat.

I just bought a pair of the Peltor (3M) Sport Tactical 100 ear muffs to replace my Peltor Tactical Sport. They are different models, confusing product names.Hello looking to get some electeonic ear pro to use when shooting my AR, i do alot of indoor shooting so I will be doubleing up inserting ear plusg as well. The newer Sport Tactical 100s have a lower profile, although I did not have a problem with the larger Tactical Sport earmuffs hindering my cheek weld.
The sound quality is not as clear as the older Tactical Sport, and the loud noise clipping/suppression is more noticeable, even at the fastest recovery setting (the power, volume, and clipping recovery are all controlled by a single twist knob).
But they are good enough and are half the price of the Tactical Sports.
If you do buy them, I recommend getting these upgrade gel ear cups. For me, they seal out noise better and allow me to wear the earmuffs for 4+ hours straight without discomfort.

I'm using a pair of Peltor Rangeguard earmuffs. I like the check weld better than the Howard Leight Impact Sport. The HL would always rub up against the stock of my Shotty, but not the Peltor. So I sold my Impact Sport so I can get another pair of the Rangeguard. 👍

For shooting an AR, it's has to be slim. Otherwise, it gets in the way (cheek weld) too muchComment

I went from wearing a pair of Howard Leights that I never really liked to a pair of MSA Sordin pro's. While the Sordins weren't cheap by any means, they were worth every penny. So moral of my story is good ear pro isn't cheap and cheap ear pro isn't good. At least that was the case for me.As the great warrior poet Ice Cube once said "If the day does not require an AK, it is good."Comment

I havent found thin profile electronic earmuffs that offer enough hearing protection. I have two sets. 3M and HL.
I like these - https://www.amazon.com/Decibullz-Ear...lug+protection
I will wear my Howard Leights to matches just so I can hear instructions. Otherwise, its ear plugs all the way.Comment

Do you have any comparison with the peltor sport tac? It offers one more NRR DB over the range guardI'm using a pair of Peltor Rangeguard earmuffs.
