    Orange County purchase policy?

I called Turner's and asked them does it matter which address was on my lisense for them to issue a firearm, they said if it is not where I sleep it is a felony to use that address to purchase a firearm, so the man said to change the DL address online, then go to the DMV and get a "free information request". I'm not sure what that is but shouldn't I bypass the FIR by just getting a new lisence in the mail? I had a notary sign a letter stating that I lived where I live because I do not have any utility bills in my name there.

Is all I need to do change my DL address through the DMV to finish the paperwork gathering to get my CCW and a concealed handgun issued?

How could someone running a 4473 tell if the address listed/on DL is not where you live?

I apologize if my wording is spacey, I will clear anything up if you have questions.

Get your address corrected at the DMV and have two matching proofs of residency (the first being your ID/DL).

Does a passport work? Or would it have to be car insurance or a letter addressed to me at that location?

Try car registration. Still need an ID/DL with proper address.

It is ONE proof of residency, not two.

If your drivers license does not match where you live then you will need something from a government agency that shows your address to comply with federal law.

If your car registration has your correct address you can use this to satisfy both federal and state requirement. All you need is this and your drivers license , even if your drivers license has the wrong address.

Does not satisfy state requirements but satisfies federal requirements.

It's a bit more involved than just finishing the paperwork, and I doubt they are going to issue you a handgun.

The CCW form has a section where you list all addresses in the past five years. Do I have to list my PO box because it was on my lisense?

And 'NO" a passport doesn't work. It has a pic, and proves citizenship. But no address to prove residence.

If you're a AAA member, go there, change your Drivers Lic and your car registration address. Get a Printout. Done!

Some FFL will accept a change of address brown card and some won't. I'd just get a new DL so you have nothing to worry about. My DL had my old apt # and my guard card had my new apt # even though its the same address and one wouldn't accept it they wanted things to match exactly.
