    Prosthetic trigger finger...

So my father is missing a finger and we got to joking about prosthetics. It made me wonder if a fast-actuating prosthetic finger that allows you to rapid-fire would be considered a machine gun on someone that's missing an index finger. Probably in CA.

    Interesting. ...

a fast pulling trigger "normal" finger isn't considered a machine gun.

But I think as soon as you start to power it with a motor you might be in a serious no-go / gray area.

The only thing that makes a semi auto into full auto or machine gun is a firing mechanism that continues to fire while the trigger is held pulled.

I thought only CA politicians were confused on the topic.

Attached to the firearm is key here... Again, a finger is not attached to the firearm, therefore it doesn't alter the function of the firearm. A firing mechanism attached device would alter the firing mechanism.

                  What Mosin said. ^^^^

A semi auto is a semi auto, no matter who or what pulls the trigger. One pull, one round and it stops shooting unless if you release the trigger and pull again.

My step father is actually missing his trigger finger. He can shoot pretty damn well with the middle one.

Plus when he sees someone picking their nose and driving he can give them a pretty good freak out.

Make sure you pay the atf tax stamp (or know how to keep your mouth shut) before installing that finger on your hand

No matter how fast or what your finger is made of....one trigger pull = one round down range!!! Your finger makes a machine gun NOT!!!
