    Dealer won't follow through

    Hello all,

I'm a new member here, and thought I'd seek advice from the abundance of informed individuals on this site. My problem is this, I purchased a semi auto rifle (Tommy gun) from a dealer last December before the deadline. Part of the deal was for him to install a bullet button and block two magazines for me. One is a 150 round and the other is a 30. The magazines were supposed to have been blocked and delivered by the second week of January. For the last two months, he's been giving the excuse that he's waiting on supplies or it's tough to block them out and that he'll have them done in a week or so. When I follow up with him a week later nothing has been done. Now he's threatening to just turn the mags over to the state.

Other than hiring an attorney, what are my options?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and time on this.

    Signed,

    Disappointed

      Dealer won't follow through

      Attorney? For what?

Some people do not understand how difficult and how much time it takes to block some magazines. Especially drums.

Ask for a refund and move on.

Blocking a drum is a sad concept. And, yes I bet most folks realize how hard and stupid that would be.

Have you already taken possession of the gun itself?
The bullet button ceased to be legal for transfer on Jan 1.
If the FFL does not have a Large Capacity permit, he can not have those magazines in his shop... at least one FFL that participates on this forum has had their LC permit denied for 2017.

I did receive the gun back in December. Have been waiting on the mags.

They can no longer produce 10/20 and 10/30 because they can no longer import the bodies.

Sounds to me like either he can't find away to legally block the mags or can't even possess the mags to attempt it. The length of time it is taking him is not practical or believable, he needs to be straight up. I put you on the back burner because I have easer more profitable things to do right now or I can't do it. I think your most likely out of luck, I'd try to get him to at least come clean and figure out a resolution. I have a feeling your not getting any blocked mags from him ever.

Would you be interested in selling the drum? I have a full auto Tommy coming here in 2 months and could use it. I can block the 30 round stick for you and if you want a trade I think I have some wwii gi stick mags I could swap.

you really don't want that drum anyway. Stick mags are easier to insert.

Ask and ye shall receive. Hell of an offer, now if you can just get your FFL to playball and make it happen. I'd much rather have a few more stick mags then one 10 round drum.

Not knowing who the dealer is, it is a waste of time to even take a guess.

Thank you for the offer, but I'd like to have the drum and the stick. I just want this guy to fulfill his part of the deal.

You know they sell a model with 10 rd drums right, and they sell 10rd drums and sticks. Make it featureless to import then get whatever you need for it. You can't have bullet buttons now anyways. I just got one last month, that's what I did.

I have a spare kydex fin grip in brown, not 100% perfect but it works, I'll sell it to you for $30 shipped. PM me.
