Ruger 1022 or Browning .22

My grandfather passed away around 3 years ago and recently we found two rifles in the closet hidden in the wall. One is a 1987 Ruger 1022 with a cheap scope and the second, a 1986 browning .22. Since my grandmother has no need for them, shes willing to give me one and my cousin another.

What would be the "better" choice of the two? I was planning on taking the Browning, because i can always buy a 1022 almost anywhere.

Ruger 10/22s can be had on the cheap anywhere. The Browning .22 is probably a levergun and therefore classy and classic. Also, Browning .22s don't pop up every day. Rugers, on the other hand, pop out of the ground like hippies at Woodstock

My father has a Browning SA-22, an old one and a T-bolt, which is even older. Both are fine rifles. The SA-22 is very accurate with follow up shots and a joy to shoot. The T-bolt is the most accurate .22 I've ever shot.

Go with the Browning. 10/22's are popular mostly because they are economical, a Browning is a gun with a legacy and a sound design.
