Need help on my 1911 built

Hi anybody built 1911 got problem with hammer won't cock all the way when you rack the slide.to cock the hammeryou need to usethumb to cock it put a little bit force take them off a lot of times to check sear and disconector it's moves up/down any idea or comment gladly I try it

Sear isn't engaging.

Sear nose is too long. Stone the nose .001" at a time. Make sure to stone down enough to allow the slide to "over-cock" the hammer, so that even when the hammer is cocked, when the slide rides over the hammer it will push the hammer down a little more.

You have to use a sear stoning jig or you will ruin the sear.

Who's parts are you using? Are your sear pin and hammer pin holes drilled correctly?

make sure you always use quality new parts, not just some part out of a box at the gun show.
