    223 Silver Bear 62gr HP bi-metal

Has anyone ever used this brand of ammo? The add says "Bi-metal 62gr hollow point, made in Russia, zinc plated steel case, non-corrosive."

Or has anyone ever used this brand of ammo? 223 Golden Bear 62gr HP bi-metal, bi-metal 62gr hollow point, made in Russia, brass plated steel case, non-corrosive.

    Any feedback would be great.

I've shot Silver Bear 62gr. SP 223. Seemed decent enough for Russian ammo.

I also bought a case of 45 200 gr. HPs from them. Wasn't too impressed. The first 5 or so boxes were loaded inconsistently, some with lotsa bang, some with not enough to cycle the action on my Glock 21. But the last few boxes have been just fine.

Will I run into extraction problems or undue wear/tear on my extractor since the cases are steel?

The steel is a mild version, you'll be fine.

if yer really worried, there's a brand called "Golden Bear". It's the same stuff, but the cases are brass plated instead of zinc plated. but you should be fine with the silver

(the also have laquered cases under the name "Brown Bear". I'm beginning to see a pattern...)

I bought a couple of boxes of the Silver Bear 308 to try in my socom. I works fine and is a cheap alternative to the more expensive brass cased surplus. I won't use it in my bolt action 308 just because I treat it like a queen, but for plinking ammo it's just fine.
