    Threaded Glock barrel

A couple of months back I completed a PPT for a Salient Glock 17. Included was a bag of original parts and another threaded barrel (sample pic below). I believe putting this on your pistol makes it an assault weapon.

Can I have it put on permanently (pin and welded?) to avoid trouble like an AR?

You can't permanently install a barrel in an semi-automatic pistol. Also, you probably can't permanently attach a muzzle device to the threaded barrel and still allow easy field stripping.

If you need a new barrel, buy one. For the moment, there is no "constructive possession" concerning California "assault weapons," so you can keep your threaded barrel as long as you don't install it in your Glock, though I don't know why you would want to keep it if you intend to stay in California.

Thanks for the info. The 17 already has a great looking gold barrel. I am going to sell one so I guess the decision is pretty easy now.

Ive considered a threaded barrel with a pinned/welded compensator on it for my glock. Would make cleaning a little more complicated i guess

I used to have a Glock 22C (factory compensator in .40 S&W). I compared it to a rental Glock 22 (uncompensated .40 S&W) at an indoor range and couldn't feel any significant difference.

There are thread protectors for threaded barrels. Maybe one can be attached permanently?

Over Glock? What a headache. Just sell your threaded barrel on gunbroker.

What model is it for and who made it? I can always use a spare barrel for my suppressor.

I may be wrong so please correct me if I am, but I am under the impression that you can use silver solder to "permenetly" attatch muzzle devices. The only way you could take the device off is a blowtorch but atleast you dont have to modify any of your parts. Also, having your barrel permenetly in your slide wont make that much of a difference in cleaning if you use a bore snake.
I don't drink or Smoke. I spend my money on gunpowder and gasoline.

Here is the eBay listing with pics.

I didn't list it here to discourage California sales.

There is no ca doj approved adhesive so locktite should work. That's what is on the walther P22 CA version

Op can either keep disassembled while within the state, turn down the threads (destroy them), cut and crown the barrel, or permanently attach a thread protector or muzzle device
