Too bad most if not all of those are deemed unsafe by our state.

I'm not crazy about suggesting .32ACP and .22WMR as primary defensive tools. There are tons of other options out there in better calibers.

Why not a police trade-in Glock? I'm not even a fan of Glocks, but that's what I would get if I was on a budget.

Partisanship is cancer. Glory to the USA, glory to Ukraine, and I hope that someday Russia is free and the normal people have a voice.

If you can't buy them here new, what's the point of talking about them? Just gets me pissed off!

If you are interested in saving money on purchasing a weapon, any weapon, just hold off for a while. The fact of the matter is, gun sales have slowed to a crawl since the election. People are no longer scared that guns, especially hi-cap semi auto defense handguns, are in danger of being banned. At least for the next 4 to 8 years. So time, along with the rush to buy, is no longer a motivating factor in driving sales. I expect to see a lot more deals in the near future.

Especially when you consider that a lot of manufacturers and distributors have stocked up on a lot of product they expected to unload at massive profits, had the election gone the other way. It didn't, and now they're stuck with warehouses full of goods they'll have to discount heavily in order to move.

If anything, this should teach the consumer just how profitable the gun and ammunition business has been for the last 8 years. They're not losing money on any of these "deals".
If common sense was so common, why don't liberals possess any?

                  ^^^THIS

.327 Fed Mag at the very least and I'd say the only up on that is the additional round but I'd still go with .38spl or +P

.32ACP and .22WMR are only for defense against small four legged threats like angry squirrels and such.

Yep. Lots of private sellers looking to sell right now. Better to buy a quality used gun and save a 100 bucks than some of these "budget" models.

I learned a heap about the guns from the pages of comments.
                      I love pocket pistols.
I don't have a CCW and probably never will, but I have the guns for it.

I have the P11, P32, LCP and NAA Mag.

Many of the comments in that article are kinda dumb or outright wrong, so read up more before believing anything there.

P11: Same size and weight as a S&W Airweight J frame but holds 10+1.
Mine has been very reliable and surprisingly accurate.
The DAO trigger is long but smooth.
The trigger does let off only when pulled way back, adding the optional trigger shoe spaces your finger further forward and nicely solves the way back let off issue.
With the trigger shoe added, I have no complaints.
Belt clip is available for this one too.

P-32: It has also been very reliable, no mag jams with hollow point ammo or any other problems.
It is almost one full size down from the LCP .380, it does not seem like much difference at first glance but it is narrower, shorter, thinner and lighter.
7+1 rounds is a bunch in such a small package.
The P32 concept was to provide a low cost pocket pistol the same size as .22LR and .25ACP guns, with the much more effective .32ACP cartridge.
In this Kel tec did a great job, the other compact .32ACP at the time of the P32 introduction was the very expensive and rare .32 all steel Seecamp.

LCP: everyone knows this has been a home run hit for Ruger, it's a great gun.
Mine has been reliable from the very first round.
Being a early Kel Tec buyer, and liking their products, I was disappointed to see Ruger basically copy the Kel Tec P3AT.
However, Kel Tec told me that their sales of P3ATs have been plenty strong, increasing quickly after the introduction of the LCP, that there is room for everyone in the marketplace.
They see the Ruger copy as being flattery.
But I digress and the LCP is a good gun.

NAA Mag: basically a point-blank last chance gun, but it can shoot farther out than you think.
Go with the Mag frame version as it still fits in your pocket just fine, has a bigger grip to hang onto, and even though it is just a .22, the Mag cartridge will get out over 1,000 FPS so it does pack a punch.

I'm not super enthused about that list.

$350 in a free state will buy all sorts of decent handguns: Ruger SRs, EAA Witness, SW SDs, maybe even a Shield on sale...

...and $350 is more than enough for a basic pump shotgun. It'd be nice if articles had a sentence or two to that fact, to ensure would-be gun owners are aware.

Except for concealment/portability issues, it's very hard for any handgun to beat the utility of a $200 Maverick 88.

Eh. I'm sure the article isn't aimed at gun nuts like us. If it helps an unarmed citizen pick up a firearm, I'm all for it.

Lets not kid ourselves. Tons of Calguns members with some seriously schwag guns.

Because even poor people need self defense. Some just can not afford anything else.

Would be a far more interesting article if it was about $350 or less guns, which are available in CA for $350 or less.

And I echo the above sentiment that a $350 shotgun is a more suitable firearm for most people who are shopping for one of their first guns, which is clearly who the article is catered to.

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.
