With a smaller safe where the guns are lined up on the two side walls it can get tight due to the leaning of the guns from vertical at a large angle.
A smaller angle (more straight up and down) method is velcroing or gluing rubber door stops under the butt. The angle is less (guns stay closer to the walls), yet won't slip.

P.S. this guy also put the shelf in there because his AR's are short and it gives him storage space beneath, as you can see.
