Ok my dad had died a little over a year ago. My sister was the executor of the will and somethings where left out of it so she got them, you know it the guns. She lives in Washington the state and has them in her name. She has decided to give me a few. These are just pistols the question is if they are not on the roster for California can they still be brought in to this state. I understand they will still have to go thru a FFl correct. Is their still a waiting time and how many at one time can i bring in 1 every 30 days or can I have all 3 shipped to the FFL at one time.

Since it's a sibling to sibling transfer, the handguns need to be listed on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale or be exempt from it (C&R, OTP, SAE, SSE2).
Correct.
For over 48 years, Federal laws have required transfers between residents of different States to be done through a FFL.
The 1 in 30 day wait applies.sigpic

^ again, Quiet got it right.
Sibling to sibling does not qualify for intrafamilial transfer, so the pistols are not exempt from the handgun roster if the owner is not a CA resident.
So OP, you have no way to own them here, if they are off roster, unless you are otherwise exempt from the roster (LE).
Unless . . . you have a living mother that they could be transferred to first. Mother to child is eligible for intrafamilial transfer.Last edited by onelonehorseman; 02-08-2017, 7:09 AM.sigpicComment

Understandable.
Unfortunately, if you have confirmed that they are off roster, it does not appear that you will be able to take possession of those in CA.
I'm sorry for the loss of your father.sigpicComment

Having had my late mother in a very similar situation, I sympathize, but the right thing to do is get a legal document appointing someone to act on your mother's behalf in this matter.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!Comment

How are they 'hers' other than by default? Is the estate still open, can they be legally deemed to be your inheritance from the estate (your father)? If it was a snake, it would have bit me.
