Did something good just come from the ATF?

In an "white paper" published by the Washington Post, ATF Associate Deputy Director Ronald Turk shows that a continued ban on the importation of numerous "assault weapons" is nonsensical.

I am in disbelief... Yet I hope this is the start of a trend.

While I do understand that it is common (with good reason) for those involved in the shooting sports be critical of ATF, I have always believed it was the political folks at the top of the food chain that caused us problems, not the professional staff. While it is much too early to say for sure, it does appear we may be seeing a shift in the AFT as it relates to enforcement issues.

Don’t forget, the professional staff had nothing to do with the gun running scheme initiated by Holder and his minions. It was strictly a political decision.

Read the disclaimer at the very end of the paper. This is some peons opinion and not an official plan of action from the ATF. This is FAKE NEWS at its best.
The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.

Associate Deputy Director. Not a peon.

Just what are you referring to as "professional staff". ATF has been off the rails since ill conceived creation by the GCA68. Just ask Ken Ballew about their "professional staff".

A teenage burglary suspect, cooperating with police as an informant, told the county investigators that he had seen guns and grenades in Apartment No. 2 of a white man named "Ken" who drove a white jeep.
That's all it took for the ATF attack dogs to kick in a guys door and shoot him in the head.

Do I even need to mention "Ruby Ridge"? It was a US Marshal that murdered Randy Weavers kid and dog. And an FBI agent that murdered his wife. But it was a bunch of incompetent ATF weenies that started that entire "Ch!t Storm" of LE stupidity.

"Professional Staff"?................I think not. The agency that never should have been. Is a better description.
