Can you help with a V-day gift

So two parts here. I was able to get some laminated wood grips for my wife's pistol. They are black, with silver, I guess. My two questions. I understand I directly change the colors of the grips, but could I possibly tint them? Since it's my wife's pistol I would like to add a pink tint since I can't make them a pink woodgrain. My second question is does anyone know of a good crystal clear bubble free resin I could use to encapsulate something into the grip. I got them because they were missing the medallions, so I plan on putting little hello kitty heads in their place. I need a resin I can use to keep them in place that's clear. If it can also provide some possible magnification and or 3d depth would be a plus.

So to reiterate my questions. Does anyone know a way to tint laminated wood, and can anyone name a good crystal clear resin that I don't have to buy a gallon of?

Does she actually like pink? Most serious female shooters i know dont care about the appearance. The money is often better spent on a range day (i.e. Ammo) than a cosmetic change. Pink can often come off quite condescending

Yes. She really loves pink. And hello kitty. I understand cosmetics are just that, cosmetic, but if I can give her something that will make her pistol truly hers I think that's a little bit better than the standard range time we take anyway. It's also my way a fairly inexpensive yet romantic Valentine's gift

It is my eventual goal to get her to be as enthusiastic about firearms as I am. However; she is not currentlyat my level. I enjoy the thought of continued training where she enjoys going to the range on occasion. I continue to train her as much as possible. I have a laser snapcap, I make her clean her own weapon, I teach her about using mine (wait, I don't have any weapons), I constantly talk about safety, Etc. This is more of personal touch type gift. A "I know the little things you like" type gift. I figure if I can make her gun more her's she'll be more enticed to train more. It also has the fact I took my time to create something special for her that makes it that much better. Even if it doesn't costake that much.

Yeah more or less. I enjoy making things as often as I can. Gifts with a personal touch are often more appreciated also.

Split the grips with a bandsaw
Add the pink as a sandwich layer
Glue together
Sand the edge

The grips are not that thick. .2" at its thickest and .12" for the most part. It's a wood laminate for a 92fs.

I had seen the mirror coat, and I've used similar products before in the past, but I don't need that much. That was the problem I could only find large batch epoxies. Nothing in a more single use application.

Well you could try to dye them with Rit but it's anybody's guess how the would turn out. And a lighter original color would probably take the dye better. But you could dip them in for just a few seconds until you achieved the desired color you were looking for. But again, no idea how this might turn out.

Alternatively you could maybe airbrush them pink-ish with paint, only do it very lightly so as to just give it a hue or similar...if you have an airbrush.

Paint that changes color at 86 degrees.

They would make unique grips.

You'll have to remove any paint or sealer in order for the tint/stain to soak in. Paint remover with a toothbrush to get into the checkering. Then you might try some wood bleach to get rid of the darkness. Then stain or dye.
Or, spray paint pink. You could even go 2 tone and leave a black border around the outside/checkered part. Or reverse.
