    First Handgun Purchase Today!

Hey, all. I made my first handgun purchase today.

A Springfield XD9 Sub-compact. I let my wife do the picking because I wanted her to be comfortable with it since it will be our primary HD pistol. She handled an SD9VE first, and liked it. Then she went to the Shield and forgot all about the SD9VE. Then she tried both the 4" and 3" versions of the XD. She felt the 3" was more balanced to her hands.

Worst part is going to be the wait. 9 days, 21 hours, 3 minutes... And counting.

    Just felt like sharing!

    Thanks for reading.

Congrats OP. The XD9 Service 4" was my first handgun. Saw one in OD Green and had to have it. Since then have 2 others in Tactical 5". Great great guns for sure.

Nice start, but since the wife picked it, you will never see it again.

        What is your next one?

Lmao, you're probably right! Depending on how much I like this one, I may just go for the 4" version for myself.

Oh, you mean your first handgun purchase ever, today.

I thought you meant this is only the first purchase today with 7 hours and 29 minutes left in the business day to make other purchases.

Congrats OP, your going to love the new handgun. The only problem is now you have to buy one for yourself, then you'll need a 1911, then a wheel gun because you'll feel safer using it for HD. Then you'll need a levergun to match the caliber of the wheel gun. I could go all day if you'd like

                  Enjoy your new gun
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Good for you OP, it's just that it would've been better if your wife got to shoot it. I have two young daughters and they would incorrectly assume that smaller guns are easier to shoot, where exactly the opposite is the case.

Hopefully she likes shooting the subcompact and doesn't regret not getting a bigger one.

Good stuff OP, that gives you 9 days for ammo, accessories, more ammo, and to start shopping for your next one

Congrats OP! Welcome to the club. Just beware, it's an addicting hobby. Pace yourself I started with an xd9 too. That was about 9 guns ago

I made her aware of the differences regarding muzzle flip and recoil with smaller guns, but she felt the sub just "fit" her better. I tried to push her, GENTLY, to the service size, but she liked the feeling of the sub more. My wife is a stubborn woman, so I only try once, otherwise she gets frustrated. I didn't want her to shut the whole thing down because I was a dumb@ss about it!

That stubbornness will make her take that pistol and out-shoot me with it, guaranteed!

Congrats, Welcome to the club. If you like the high bore axis the XD 5" Is a great gun.

I do have one I was thinking of selling if you want with upgraded trigger and guide rod. It's an awesome shooter but I prefer lower bore axis so I went the M&P Route. just a heads up.

Shoot her often and enjoy, it is addicting

OP, this round works very well with the XD9sc, tight grouping when the magazine is emptied quickly.
