taking off flip-up lens caps on aimpoint help please

i put on the flip-up covers on my aimpoint, but now i need to take them off. with the help of people here, i learned to put the covers in boiling water to soften them up to put on, but now how do i get it off?

im sure at least 1 person has done it before
