Eotech Vudu 1-6x scope SR3.

Hello everyone,
I'm in the market for a 1-6x scope for my AR. I have looked at several other ones but just curious if anyone has gotten their hands on one. I plan on using it for plinking. home defense, varmint hunting, etc. I already have a red dot w/magnifier but would prefer a single package. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Budget? With mounts
$300 = Primary Arms or Vortex 1-6x32
$600 = Burris MTAC 1.5-6x42
$800- $1000 = Trijicon
$1000+ Leupold
$1300 + NightForce.

The Vudu is just OK IMHO, and over priced. I looked at it at SHOT and while I like a lot of its features the reticle is not usable for me and your likely better off with the Burris 1-8 XTR-II for $1000.

Have you checked out the Vortex Strike Eagle? I have one on my AR and really like it. Less than 300.

That is not even in the same class. I had a Strike Eagle when they came out based on a bunch of people predicting it would be awesome, and its not. Sold it and never looked back. The Vortex Razor HD is better, and has become a sort fo "standard', but I do not like it because it is super heavy to be just a 30mm tube.

he wasnt comparing the Strike Eagle to the Burris XTR-II, he was offering the optic as a $300 option.

The Burris XTR-II sucks and I use a UTG UberKewl Guy XX-5 sniper model SEAL team Sixx, cost me $25 on E-bay Now you can blast and flame me. See how that works.

Another good option is the Leupold Mark 4 1.5-5, I have seen them used in the $600 range with mount here on CG and on arf.

Thank you guys for your input. I'm definitely going to take a look at a couple of the scopes you recommended. I agree the Eotech Vudu is over priced but if I go that route it'll cost me under $1K. Thanks again!

Check out the Bushnell Btr 1 It's a 1x4 but you may be suprised .The kids and I have been beating on a two for a couple years now . Including one on M1a Socom and supposedly The M1as are hard on Optics . And the Btr 1 Is about $300 . Seriously check it out .
