AK47 c39v2, thoughts? First AK l live in Cali

I'm going to purchase my first AK and someone mentioned Atlantic Firearms and C39V2. Any experiences or opinions regarding the c39v2 would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Good entry level ak. If you have funds, get an arsenal or vepr from Atlantic firearms. Or wait for the new kalashnikov USA branded ak later this year. I believe Atlantic will provide CA featureless mod for all of these.

Truly, buy a molot or arsenal, it's worth the money.
However I hope you enjoy whatever you buy.

Kalishnikov USA has nothing to do with Kalishnikov USSR does it ?

Too bad we can't have the new Arsenal SLR-107R. $879 for an Arsenal. If only they'd name it other than "SLR"

I suggest a Palmetto State Armory for quality, low cost, US made AKM.

Some owners report problems with the bolt and carrier being too soft and failing. The v2 was supposed to correct that but I still read of problems on AK web sites. Cheap fix is to replace them with mil surplus parts and you're good to go.

I don't think you can beat a WASR for the money. Not the prettiest girl at the ball, she gets the job done. I got mine last year. Nice mag well and well put together.

The C39V2 is alright from what I've heard, but many shooters have reported problems with its bolt.

Id recommend (for the same or lower price) a Vepr or a Wasr

There's plenty of other ak rifles on Atlantic. Get the wasr or the Romanian rifle with the Bakelite furniture.

No, nothing at all, they are just stealing Kalashnikov Concern's name.
It's legal at the moment because of the sanctions against Russia, but once those are lifted there will be lawsuits against the false Kalashnikov USA and they'll be forced to pay and/or change their name.
