Modern Rifles That Are Almost Unobtainable?

Pretty often, I like to see how much certain weapons sell for over time and I noticed how rare it is to see the H&K MR 556 line of rifles for sale. There's only 2 for sale on Gunbroker.com and virtually out of stock at every retailer. What gives? Did H&K stop production of the MR line? Or maybe plan on releasing a new and updated version of the MR line?

What other rifles used to be easy to obtain and are now almost unobtainable?

was the xm-8 even offered for sale to the public? i thought it was a prototype for the military only?

famas is discontinued i believe the factory closed in 2002, even the french army just switched to the hk416 in august due to this. and the fact that the famas couldn't use the standard nato ammo. the french had to make their own steel cased 5.56 just for the famas.

I think it is a piece of crap, but having a FAMAS would be pretty cool, just for the novelty. I would be impressed to see an SAC L85 over here also, even they too are a Lemon. Seems many of our Euro NATO partners can't seem to make a good standard rifle.

              L85 though I don't know why you'd want one.

to be fair, it seems they can't make a bullpup rifle.

when they make a standard rifle it runs just fine.

The semi-automatic FAMAS was a $100 rifle when Steyr AUGs were $650. The first batch of hundreds brought in by Century took a long time to sell-out so a second one wasn't coming; and Bush's 1989 import ban precluded that possibility.

                  That makes them $8000+ guns.
