While I would never normally purchase a firearm from BPS, I had a mess of gift cards I wanted to get rid & figured I'd get a G21.
Rocklin BPS quoted me $650 (crazy) I asked my if they price match and was told as long as it's in stock & an everyday price. I found 4 brick & mortar shops in stock, the best being $545 and the other 3 were $570.
Went to BPH, asked if they still price match "yep, anywhere within 50 miles"
I gave the saleman the $545 store, phone # & address. He would have to check with his manager. Big nope, we don't price match that store........ Ok, here's 3 more stores.... Salesman didn't care who the stores were, just the price. I told him $570 and he went to check with his manger again.
"Sorry, they won't do it. They won't price match mom & pops" Ok, but one of those stores was Wild Sports? He said sorry they won't do it. I then spoke to the manager, his excuses were awesome ~
"we don't know if it's last years model, there could be something wrong with it, & we have great prices - so something's not right at their prices" These were just a few of his gems. I told him if they won't price match, just say so, no need for excuses. He said we will price match, but only Cabals & Sportsmens warehouse.
So basically they'll price match any store within 50 miles, just as long as it Cabelas or Sportsmens........ If this really was their policy just say do up front, but making every excuse possible just to squirm out of a deal is shady. So before wasting time & Energy dealing with BPS Rocklin, just know they won't honor their "price match" policy.
