    Ammunition Co-Op

The new Ammo restrictions ONLY cover SALES...NOT trades, gifts, donations, exchanges...

I would like to start an Ammunition Co-Op where individuals can get ammunition they want/need through ALL methods OTHER than SALE.

As long as there is NO "Purchase" or "Sale"

Let's discuss a system that will work for all.

I NEVER intend to comply with a vendor's license and import restrictions.

Want Ammo...I'll sell you cookies...and give away a box of ammo for each cookie purchased. Each cookie will have a corresponding size as to distinguish the different ammo given away with it. Eg. The 380 gram peanut butter cookie might correspond to CCI Blazer Brass 95 grain 50 round box... A .45oz Sugar cookie might correspond to a box of 50 .45CAP 230 grain Winchester rounds...

I like the idea, but I'd take it off the net.

Why not, it works for raw dairy milk people and pot shops.

The good thing is that you've got nearly a year to iron out the details. Good luck - hope it works out for you.

Why are you under the incorrect assumption that the ammunition restrictions only apply to sales? SB 53 clearly applies to the TRANSFER OF AMMUNITION, not just sales. We cannot give away ammo without going through a vendor nor can we import ammunition from out-of-state without shipping it to a licensed CA dealer.

                    Most definitely NOT TRUE.

30312. (a) (1) The delivery or transfer of ownership of ammunition may only occur in a face-to-face transaction with the deliverer or transferor being provided bona fide evidence of identity from the purchaser or other transferee, provided, however, that ammunition may be purchased over the Internet or through other means of remote ordering if an ammunition vendor in this state initially receives the ammunition and processes the transfer in compliance with this section and Article 3 (commencing with Section 30345). An ammunition vendor is required to promptly and properly process those transactions. An ammunition vendor is not required to house ammunition orders longer than 30 days.

OK...you keep believing that a gift isn't a transfer and ignore the discussions that competitive shooters are presently having about how it will suck not to be able to give/loan ammo at shoots.

this is the same way the MJ people got around the whole can't sell unless to co-op members.

maybe we need to get some of their lawyers to take a look at these two laws and see if a similar co-op setup can be used.
