Bakersfield gun store broken into again...

And this what, the third time? Happened today...

The Bakersfield Police Department is looking for three or more suspects who broke into The Armory on District Boulevard around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, January 13.

"the suspects attempted to steal two scopes and two fake plastic guns. The suspects stuffed the merchandise into a pillowcase, but then left the store without the pillowcase and the stolen merchandise."

    Some good robbers right there...

Total bummer that shop keeps getting robbed.... They need to update the security! Maybe a Doberman or equally angry beast

I race in Bakersfield often, and have several friends up there, but that town is just turning into a den of crack and meth heads. Sure, lots of cool areas and homes from the 50's, but downtown is scary and the police are basically worthless. Its bad and getting worse fast.

Maybe the thieves should have stolen a flashlight first.

I'm gonna say Green Acres or Oildale is where the coppers should be looking.

Half of the staff there are low lifes, and the other flagship gun stores in town basically never get broken into. And this is the third time already for a new store? I smell something suspicious.

If anything they weren't after firearms, sounds like they were after documentation or data to me.

Since I live here in Bakersfield (NOT from here) I would love to come to it's defense................. but I got nothing!

I truly hate it here......... There are a lot of good people, some here on CALGUNS...but overall it sucks............ no good pizza to be had, 1 decent brewery, weather has 2 seasons..........freezing, then hell, and a disproportionate number of "flat billed mouth breathers" driving 2 wheel drive trucks with 12" lifts...........

But........easy access to shooting areas, and a very 2A friendly environment.

How long have you been there? You didn't mention Fog season. Not bad during the drought, but look out now - Fog season is fast approaching.

I moved here in '01 with my now wife. Family life is good, schools are good where we live. I have great neighbors on my cul de sac and in my neighborhood. I guess it's not quite as bad as I make it out to be, there are a lot of positives. I am not from Ca, so it's hard to stay here knowing that the grass IS greener on the other side............ just trying to get family on board......... when that happens I'll be out of here..........

And the fog is unbelievable. The first year I was here I had to get out and look at street signs to get to work one morning. I do not travel those days....... And you're right, it will be back this year with all the rain.........

Might just be because they have big glass winders that are easy to breach.

Come on guys, three times is a hint.

The old legend of Whitebears in Concord comes to mind. The owner suffered a break-in, so he started sleeping in the store. Next break-in, he shot the intruder DRT, and there was a major stink about what a cold-blooded murderer he was. From the police, politicians and bunny-huggers, anyway.

And what is the deal with these security camera pics you see that look like faxed copies of a B&W Polaroid? I see trail cam pics that you can zoom in on and count the eyelashes on a deer, but banks and gun stores have this stuff.
I meant, it is my opinion that...
