It's not too hard, provided you're a judge or live in the OC......

New Sheriff in OC makes getting a CCW there equal to trying to get one in LA.

I see you are from Irvine. Before the current sheriff, it was much easier to get a CCW and a lot of us had them. The chances of getting them now is pretty close to none. I suggest, if you travel, getting a UT and FL CCW.

The attitudes and policies of the person running OCSD are probably indistinguishable from those of LASD's "Lee" Baca.

Click this line if you would like information on the current situation in OC regarding CCW.

You probably have no chance of getting a CCW.

No. California does not honor any out of state CCW for non-LEO.

Wasn't easy with the old Sheriff, unless you were in the circle or made a huge contribution to his favorite fund.

Funny how nobody mentioned that if you actually have good cause, like being a criminal law attorney, jewelry merchant, or other high risk profession, the OP might actually overcome the high threshold of the current OC Sheriff. And, by the time the process of applying, etc. gets going, the current OC Sheriff may be the outgoing going gone Sheriff, or the Sheriff with a newly-enlightened issuance policy.

I know 2 folks in a high risk profession that had their OC CCW revoked, so it doesn't fly with the new sheriff.
