    Remington 870 marking

    Trying getting a new shotgun.
But I can't find any information about marking.
The shotgun just mark with "Remington 870"

    I'm pretty sure it's a Remington 870 and not a Mossberg 500.

There must be a serial # on it. That would give you the ability to search when it was made.

Defiantly not a Wingmaster. Most likely an Express.

The barrel markings will tell you what gauge and max shell size.

The receivers for magnums are marked "Magnum." The riveted ejector is different on the magnum receivers.
