Generally, for any noun replacing "it", the answer would usually be 'hire a lawyer and write a will'.

If, in this case and on a gun board, "it" may mean some kind of gun, then our question is 'what kind of gun?'.

Most guns just pass through the will as personal property, with some documentation requirements.

But guns that the state of CA calls 'assault weapons' cannot be passed on and remain in state. And by the time you pass - may that be long in the future! - the state may have deteriorated further.
