    0001 Serial Number?

    Hi all,

New member here, but I recently picked up a S&W 627 PC and the last four numerals of the serial are 0001. I'm assuming it's just the first in the series, but does anyone have any additional insight on something like this?

    Thanks and happy new year!

Several special runs of Smith PC's had low serial #'s. For example in 1998 a Lew Horton Special 627PC (8 shot, 6" barrel) started with serial # "LHV0001".

Call S&W customer service 1-800-331-0852 Tuesday morning and ask them. Remember they are 3 hours ahead of us

Your 627PC might be special.... might be not.

    Good Luck.

Whatever you do don't shoot it. Just kidding. But you should check with S&W to see if it is special.
