Nice, but I hear some of the JLD stamped PTR 's had trouble with reliable ejection from the fluting issues. I'd try to determine if this gun is reliable unless that doesn't bother you...

Thanks for the heads up. According to the previous owner it has no issues. He said the steel mags work best. With that said, I'll still get it checked out for my own piece of mind.

I'll be honest with you. I don't own one, but I saw a few in November at two local gun shops. They were going for 12.Comment

Mags are pretty cheap; I bought a handful of like new mags last year for about $3.50 each. One retailer is selling excellent condition mags for $1.50 each in packages of 6.
I have several of the bayonets. 6 or 7 years ago, Century Arms was running a promotion where they would give you a G-3 bayo if you purchased a case of surplus ammo. That was in the days of 6 cent per round 8mm Mauser ammo.
Back to the rifle: PTR has upgraded them since that rifle was produced. They now come with a paddle magazine release and a standard (not HK) thread pattern for the muzzle device. Some models have a welded optics rail.Check back later for a witty comment.Comment

Thanks! Going to take it to the range this weekend! I'll post an update on how it shoots!
