I decided to convert an older coke machine into a gun safe. It's gutted and ready for carpet. Wondering if anyone has done this and if you have any pointers. Mostly wondering about lighting options and dehumidifiers.

Like this...?
"When the system breaks down, you get to vote from the rooftops. Its one of the last best traditions of western enlightenment"
"This was an IQ test/science experiment of Josef Mengele proportions, and the public willingly lapped it up. And many failed". (me, on Wuhan flu, 2022)
Question EVERYTHING.
"Sure buddy. Whatever you say. Whatever you gotta tell yourself to sleep at night"Comment

In Arizona I had a neighbor who built out a soda machine safe.
It was bolted to the floor, lights still worked, and sat in his garage.
Not only are they hard to break into, they obviously don't look like something a thief would waste with.
If I remember correctly the build cost him more than a safe would, but it was pretty cool.Comment

I would consider adding some sheetrock for fireproofing."When government fears the people, there is liberty.
When the people fear the government, there is tyranny."
