    Hakim 9mm

Can anyone provide any information on this rifle. Possibly a year, marking meanings and a rough value. All I really know is it is a Egyptian Hakim 9 mm.

That does not look like a 8x57mm mag well... The question is, which 9mm? Op, i reccomend you slug the bore for diameter and chamber a dummy 9mm luger round to see if it fits.
How hard is it to pull the bolt back?
That will tell us more. Are you interested in selling it?

Also, sorry I dont know Egyptian.

Youtube has a bunch of videos. Surplus rifle forum has info. Hearing protection a must. Watch your fingers and the slide I have heard. Not seen a bayonet before. Looks good.

Made in 1961. 7.92x57 round. If you shoot it make sure to google what 8mm Mauser ammo to use in it, otherwise... KABOOM!

Ballpark is $400-$700 depending on condition. having a top handguard adds value. No cracks in stock adds value. Bright bore and lack of muzzle wear, overall condition etc.

I had one like yours and sold it for $500

Cool to have as it is one of the very first DI action firearms (like the AR).
Not so cool is Hakim Thumb (look it up) it makes Garand thumb seem like a paper cut.

That rear hand grip though. Yuck. I hated the stock shape and the overall hugeness of the firearm. The ugly birch stock was so cheap too.
Of course, what do you want for a Egyptian firearm ...
I have a FN49 (Belgian made, Egyptian contract) for my 8mm semi now and consider that end of things done for me.

A Rasheed on the other hand. I could go for one of those.

There's a gas adjustment knob, you can access it through the handguard. Recommend starting at the least open position when trying new ammo

Basically it is also a copy of the Swedish Lungmann(sp?) rifle... YES cocking that thing can be a scary situation...... BUT if you want an 8mm semi auto rifle that is CR you are limited to a FN49,Hakim,G43(way too $$ to shoot on a normal basis), G41(even MORE $$$) ....unless there is an 8mm Garand available(I have seen a few converted... but that is it. I like shooting 8mm semi BUT that hakim is loooooong... WAY longer than my 98k's
